Alexis Wyndham is the other type of Queen B—the Queen Bitch.
After years of being the subject of ridicule, she revels in her ability to make the in-crowd cower via the exposés on her blog, The Eastline Spy. Now that she’s carved out her place in the high school hierarchy, she uses her position to help the unpopular kids walking the hallways.
Saving a freshman from bullies? Check.
Swapping insults with the head cheerleader? Check.
Falling for the star quarterback? So not a part of her plan.
But when Brett offers to help her solve the mystery of who’s posting X-rated videos from the girls’ locker room, she’ll have to swallow her pride and learn to see past the high school stereotypes she’s never questioned—until now.
Confessions of a Queen B* is an extremely easy read. It is only 200 pages long and very simply written. It isn’t the type of book that is thought provoking and it isn’t going to become a must read classic for the future generations. (But I am assuming you knew that by the title.) If you are looking for a quick summer read, then this is the book for you. If you enjoy basic high school cliches and drama, then read this book.
Based on the quality of writing and originality of the story this book is a one. I gave it two stars for one reason, I wasn’t bored. Even though I wasn’t impressed it was still a fun and mildly entertaining read. I did have one major problem with it though. Alexis is this strong, smart, feminist women and yet the second a boy smiles at her, smells good and looks at her chest she becomes a completely different person. She is at a loss for words, flustered and raging with hormones. I just felt that her reaction to Brett was too much at odds with her character. I don’t regret reading this book, but I don’t think that I will read the rest of the series when they come out.
