Welcome to Savannah, a city where magic is real and everyone has a secret.

Mercy Taylor is from a very powerful family of witches. One problem, she was born without powers. When the family matriarch is murdered Mercy must work together with her family to protect the line, their city, and the people they love. She quickly finds that nothing is as it seems and everything is about to change.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved this book! I had never heard of J.D. Horn before picking up this book, but I definitely consider myself a fan after reading this novel.

I was immediately pulled into the story. (I do tend to love anything magical!) The Line was such a fun and easy read. The story line is exciting and quickly paced. I was never bored. There were twists and turns throughout and I was kept guessing until the very end.

Characters are obviously such an important part of the book and the Taylor clan is an eclectic bunch. Horn did a wonderful job creating a family of witches that are so much more than their power. He has created such a realistic (without the magic of course) and relatable family dynamic. They experience disappointment, jealousy and petty arguments but at the end of the day they are a family and they love and protect each other.

I can not give enough praise for this book. It was so much fun and definitely left me wanting more. The Line was the first book in the Witching Savannah series and is followed by The Source and The Void. So keep an eye out for my reviews for the rest of the series!
